MAIN OBJECTIVE
Strengthen research, technological development and innovation.

SCOPE
Aralab has recognised an opportunity in providing new markets looking not only for climatic chambers, but also integrated solutions aimed at particular applications, related, for example, to the assessment of the energy efficiency and calculation of the efficiency of air conditioning equipment, with the creation and control of laminar air flows required in refrigeration equipment testing, among others.

In order to meet the needs of industry and research centres, the project intends to develop compact instrumentation, control and automation systems for testing air conditioning and refrigeration equipment with high export potential.

MAIN OBJECTIVES

  • Define technical and functional demands/requirements to be imposed on the various instrumentation systems that are intended to be developed;
  • Design and develop the various instrumentation systems;
  • Numerical modelling for the simulation of physical phenomena relevant to the behaviour of the various instrumentation systems;
  • Design and develop data acquisition, automation and control systems;
  • Define component kits, including software modules;
  • Application of the various systems in a functional prototype;
  • Experimentally feature the various components and instrumentation, control and automation systems designed, considering different scenarios of use.

PROJECT ACTIVITIES AND EXPECTED RESULTS

  • Preliminary studies
  • Design and design of instrumentation systems
  • Design of data acquisition, automation and control systems
  • Experimentation and validation
  • Systematisation and dissemination of results

Preliminary studies – Define methodologies for prospecting and technological surveillance; identify the technical and functional demands/requirements to be imposed on the various instrumentation systems that are intended to be developed; and identify the technical and functional requirements to be imposed on automation and control systems, in view of the instrumentation systems that are intended to be developed.

Design and concept of instrumentation systems - The design and development of technical projects for the various instrumentation systems. Definition of materials and components, and kits of instrumentation systems. Numerical modelling to study important physical phenomena.

Design of data acquisition, automation and control systems - In this activity, the systems of data acquisition, automation and control will be defined. The various parameters to be monitored will be identified in order to define control actions and automation of operations.

Experimentation and validation - Verification of the technological feasibility of the studied systems. The aim is to: interconnect the various systems; apply the systems developed into demonstrators; characterise the various instrumentation, control and automation systems; and evaluate their performance and durability, testing and monitoring the various instrumentation systems.

Systematisation and dissemination of results – To disseminate the results of the project will be prepared the following contents: development of project website, and other content for promotional purposes; dissemination in technical-scientific publications; promote the official presentation of prototypes in specialised fairs.
