The Product Carbon Footprint quantifies the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions generated during the life cycle of goods and services: from the acquisition of materials, pre-processing, production, distribution, storage, to utilisation and end of life. Quantifying a product's carbon footprint makes it possible to:
- Identify priority areas for intervention and measures to reduce the product's GHG emissions;
- Reduce costs by cutting energy and raw material consumption;
- Obtain a Carbon Footprint certificate or label, demonstrating the company's commitment to tackling climate change and reinforcing its position with stakeholders;
- Comply with legislative and regulatory requirements and prepare the organisation for compliance with future carbon reporting requirements;
