Links to society have been fostered through the researchers’ strong links with industry, specifically through the Instituto de Investigação e Desenvolvimento Tecnológico em Ciências da Construção - ITeCons (www.itecons.uc.pt).

ITeCons is a non-profit organization offering services to the construction industry. It was formed in 2006 and enables the activities developed at the Universidade de Coimbra to be extended and continued in appropriate and properly technically equipped facilities.
